Scores of fans flocked to catch a glimpse of Sex and the City stars, Sarah Jessica Parker(Carrie Bradshaw),Kim Cattrall (Samantha Jones),Cynthia Nixon (Miranda Hobbes) and Kristin Davis (Charlotte York Goldenblatt at the London premier of the Sex and the City movie last night.The ladies arrived at Leicester Square, all elegantly dressed in their Sunday best particularly Parker who stunned fans in a green headpiece complete with flowers and butterflies almost as tall as the actress.Directed by Michael Patrick King, the film captures the four women in New York as they deal with their daily dillemmas about love,marriage, fashion and their ever entertaining sexual escapades.
Fans are delighted as Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) is finally set to marry the ever handsome Mr.Big (Chris Noth). The news features in New York gossip columns, she is the forty-year-old bride featured in a wedding edition of Vogue. There was certainly an appreciative female audience at the premier last night who giggled at the jokes and wept for the relationship trials and tribulations of their long time onscreen "girl friends."
However some critics say that the movie is merely a two and half hour extended version of the HBO television series and the story line is not much different from TV edition.
There was much controversy surrounding the premier of the Sex and the City Movie in London miles away from where the film is based, New York. However, leading actress Sarah Jessica Parker said to reporters "We decided to have it here and we're delighted to be here."
Amongst the celebrities in attendance at the premiere were 'Big Brother' presenter Davina McCall, Alex Curran, Michelle Ryan and Tess Daly.Others who attended included football pundit Gary Lineker, Lisa Snowdon, Kris Marshall and Mackenzie Crook.
